Aalis is seeking a Tariff Analyst to support our client’s trade policy initiatives, analyze tariff impacts, and provide data-driven insights to inform decision-making. This role requires expertise in trade compliance, tariff structures, and economic analysis, focusing on evaluating tariffs' effects on industries, imports, exports, and the broader economy.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct a detailed analysis of tariff structures, trade agreements, and their economic impacts on U.S. industries and stakeholders.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on tariff-related policies, including international trade regulations and compliance requirements.
- Provide data-driven insights to support policy development and trade negotiations.
- Collaborate with interagency teams to assess tariff implementation and identify areas for improvement.
- Evaluate trends in trade data, including imports and exports, and present findings to senior leadership.
- Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations for key stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Support the analysis of U.S. trade policies under agreements like the USMCA and other bilateral/multilateral trade frameworks.
- Respond to tariffs, duties, and trade compliance inquiries while ensuring alignment with federal trade guidelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, International Trade, Business, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in trade policy, tariff analysis, or economic research, preferably within a government or international trade setting.
- Strong understanding of trade regulations, tariff schedules, Harmonized Tariff System (HTS), and international trade agreements.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, or similar software) for evaluating trade and tariff impacts.
- Ability to interpret large datasets, conduct quantitative analysis, and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear reports and presentations for executive stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and research skills.
- Experience working with federal agencies, trade organizations, or international economic entities is a plus.
