Job Description:
The DoD seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to support various aspects of DoD Travel Programs. This role involves managing group travel logistics, supporting global distribution systems, enhancing the commercial air program, and administering the U.S. Government Rental Car and Truck Program. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a commitment to improving travel operations across the Department of Defense.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide support to facilitate the effective movement of groups by rail, bus, and air.
- Support the use and functionality of Global Distribution Systems and online booking tools for DoD Travel Programs.
- Review travel data for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with standards.
- Generate reports on premium class travel, unused tickets, city pair fares, rental car, and lodging transactions, traveler reservations, and DoD travel system activities.
- Provide data insights related to customer service assistance requests and approved passenger carriers.
- Analyze rental car and truck transactions to identify errors, inconsistencies, and trends.
- Validate rental car and truck transactions against traveler reservations.
- Review customer service assistance requests and develop draft recommendations for resolution.
- Route customer submissions and recommended solutions to the appropriate government contacts for further action.
- Review and analyze existing rental program agreements for improvement opportunities.
- Draft recommended language to enhance rental program agreements and implement government-approved changes.
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree with 24 semester hours in business-related coursework from an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting travel-related data to identify trends and inconsistencies.
- Knowledge of Global Distribution Systems and online travel booking tools.
- Strong understanding of travel industry best practices, especially regarding commercial air and rental vehicle programs.
- Ability to provide actionable recommendations for process improvement and issue resolution.
- Excellent communication skills for drafting reports, recommendations, and program updates.
